Independent TD for Donegal, Thomas Pringle, has endorsed independent candidate Jimmy Brogan in his Donegal County Council campaign, saying Jimmy, “has a mountain of experience working for people in the Donegal Electoral Area.”
Deputy Pringle said “Jimmy has been working in my constituency office for the last 12 years and has developed a wealth of experience in terms of how the system works and how to navigate the system to assist and support the public. He has decided that now is the time to put that experience to work at the council level and I am proud to support him in his campaign.
“Jimmy has always been very dedicated to his community and community development. He serves on the Board of Management of Gaelscoil na gCeithre Maístrí in Donegal Town and was very involved in the recent successful campaign to get a new school building started, after nearly 25 years of the school community being denied a proper building.
“He has also held various managerial positions within Donegal Town Rugby Club for nearly 30 years. His current position is Under 8’s manager and assistant secretary, and he has previously been Club Captain and 1st team Manager, among many other roles. Jimmy will bring that commitment to the County Council, making sure the community has a strong voice in the council chamber. He continues a family political tradition that stretches from his grandparents to his first cousin, US Congressman Brendan Boyle.
“Jimmy’s years working for the public across the county has also given him a special appreciation of the challenges people in Donegal face and how best to address them. That determination that Jimmy brings to all he does will serve the people well,” he said.
