Pringle clarifies questions on local property tax forms
- Updated: 6th October 2021
Independent TD for Donegal, Thomas Pringle, said he wanted to clarify a point on local property tax forms that seems to be causing confusion for people.
Deputy Pringle said: “My offices have heard from a number of constituents in recent days who raised concerns about local property tax forms they received recently.
“In the forms, Revenue is asking people to use Revenue’s online property valuation tool and to add the band number the online tool generates to their payment form.
“People are not being asked to get their property valued separately by an outside source,” the deputy said. He said he wanted to clarify the point because people had contacted his office believing they had to seek an outside valuation of their property, which can be costly.
Revenue’s online local property tax property valuation guide is available at: https://lpt.revenue.ie/lpt-web/valuation-guide/index.htm
Deputy Pringle said that people who were seeking assistance with the forms can contact his constituency offices in Killybegs, Ballybofey or Dungloe.
