Pringle calls on community groups to apply for climate action grants

Local groups can now apply for climate action grants which are being made available by The Community Foundation for Ireland in a match funding partnership with The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Grants are focussed on the local promotion of the Circular Economy, this can include up-cycling of goods, awareness of single-use plastic and fair and equal use of drinking water. Last year over €100,000 was provided in funding through 29-grants.
There are two strands of grants:
Strand 1: Building Awareness
Grants of up to €3,000 to support organisations to design and implement innovative online campaigns which aim to increase awareness of the concept of ‘circular economy’ and its impact on everyday life.
Strand 2: Sustaining Sustainability
Grants of up to €10,000 to support organisations working within the circular economy/sustainability’ space to continue/adapt existing work, or develop new initiatives, ensuring that Ireland’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals continues despite challenges posed by Covid-19.
