CRÍOCH
PRESS RELEASE
In the period 2018-2019, five post offices were closed in the parishes of The Rosses, Gaoth Dobhair and Cloch Cheannfhaola. In partnership with Councillor Mícheál Cholm Mac Giolla Easbuig and community activists in the area, Thomas Pringle was active in opposing the state’s policy to close post offices in rural areas. He attended public meetings which attempted to organise opposition to this policy and he was present at protests when Councillor Mac Giolla Easbuig and others organised hundreds of people to come out and demonstrate in favour of keeping the post offices open. He gave important support to that campaign.
